Amy chose to become an RVT because she has a very deep love and appreciation for animals. When she was little, Amy would tell everyone that she was going to be a veterinarian and have a St. Bernard, horse, and hippopotamus. When people asked where she would keep them, her answer was always the bathtub!
Amy attended the St. Clair College Veterinary Technician program and graduated in 1994. She hasn't always worked in the field and felt extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work at South Windsor Animal Hospital when she re-entered veterinary medicine. She feels blessed to be working with the extremely intelligent, kind, caring, supportive souls that she spends her days with. Amy’s favourite part of veterinary medicine is the privilege of being able to be included on the journey of pet ownership with patients and their families, and feels grateful to have worked with them over the past 14 years. She believes no other job could compare.
Fun fact: If she could win the lottery, she’d have a zoo!
